The man behind our brand is a loud and proud foodie. A qualified chef, he knows better than anyone how mouth-watering food punctuates a magnificent day in the Blue Mountains. He has personally designed a progressive lunch prepared from the freshest local ingredients to ensure that you are not only well fed, but the food you eat is just as amazing as the scenery.
The Three Sisters... a World Heritage listed national park... Echo Point... Katoomba Falls... need we say more?! The Blue Mountains is uniquely Australian, defined by centuries old Eucalypt forests, sweeping valleys and ancient ravines. Boasting hundreds of cascading waterfalls, dozens of incredible walking tracks and that famous blue hue that gives the mountains their name there is nothing quite like our little slice of heaven.
Picture a midday movie. An old automobile ambles gently down a winding road flanked by rolling hills and farmhouses as far as the eye can see. A cluster of mountains, glowing blue, stand sentry in the distance. A young couple sit in the sun sharing a slice of freshly-baked apple pie outside an old orchard. This is Bilpin! And it’s your final stop before we put you on your river cruise home!
There’s a sure-fire way to beat traffic in Sydney: ditch the motorway for a leisurely cruise along the Parramatta River into Sydney Harbour! Your ferry will drop you at Darling Harbour or Circular Quay and you’ll experience a completely different perspective of the harbour city to top off a fantastic day out.
The Blue Mountains
There is a reason that the Blue Mountains is one of only 19 World Heritage listed locations in all of Australia, and it is not just the views!
When we sit down to plan your tour we try to imagine a relaxed lunch with friends with a stunning backdrop or treat you like family who have come for a visit and wants to see the best spots the Blue Mountains have to offer.
We pick you up nice and early at about 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. so that we can try to beat the traffic. Early mornings can be tough, so to ease you into the day we whip up a delicious breakfast for you to eat on route that will set the tone for your day as you sit back and relax while we head west towards the Great Dividing Range.
We won’t be far into our journey before you spot a smoky blue hue on the horizon and experience firsthand why our incredible mountain range got its name.
We adapt our tours to suit you and the conditions of the day, so weather isn’t a factor. We make the most out of any weather conditions so don’t be disappointed if you wake up to grey skies, just remember to bring a jacket. Plus, there’s a fantastic little bonus to a chilly mountains day – the hot chocolates are to die for!
If Scenic World is on your ‘to do list’, we will happily oblige and include this in the day’s activities at your expense. Having lived in and around the Blue Mountains for decades, our guides know when it’s peak season and long queues might leave you disappointed, so feel free to ask us for our recommendation in advance.
If Scenic World is not for you, fear not – we’ll still take you to see the jewel in the crown, the famous Three Sisters rock formation. We’ll also share a little secret with you – we know a place where chocolate falls like rain and the walls are made of sweets! Join us as we visit a local chocolatier born and bred in the mountains where you can sample some delicious handmade chocolate and sweets.
The best part of your tour, however, comes when we squirrel you away to beautiful lookouts tucked away from the mainstream crowds. Here, you’ll enjoy a sumptuous, progressive lunch prepared from locally sourced produce. Sit back, relax and enjoy a cocktail function in a World Heritage National Park!
We want to strike the right balance for you between relaxation and fun, so after lunch as your state of the art tour bus winds gently down the Bells Line of Road, we stop at Bilpin, famous the nation across for chestnuts, walnuts and apples. If it is picking season, we take you for a wander to pick some of your own produce, or alternatively, we can drop into Bilpin Cider for you to enjoy a crisp apple cider and some cheese fondue.
This region, famous for its apples, is also home to some of the most delicious homemade apple pies in the country, perfect for afternoon tea.
Oh, and one more thing – you’ll need to keep an eye out for some famous Aussies throughout the day as kangaroos and other native wildlife often pop in and say “Hi” on our tours.
Your day will finish at Parramatta, where we have one final trick up our sleeves. Here you will climb aboard a catamaran and enjoy a cruise along the Parramatta River into the heart of Sydney, where you disembark at either Darling Harbour or Circular Quay, avoiding afternoon city traffic.
Blue Mountains Day Tour Itinerary
We start by picking up Sydney CBD, then head west to the Blue Mountains World Heritage region.
Stopping for a light breakfast en route, we then arrive at the Jamison Valley, where you have the option of taking on the Scenic World cable rides (which includes the steepest passenger railway in the world) – at own cost, or you can take a leisurely walk at Echo point.
Note: Both Scenic World and Echo point have amazing views, including the famous Three Sisters rock formation. Either way, you won’t be disappointed.
From here, we are back together again for some chocolate tasting (with a chance to see the chocolatier at work).
We then head further west, away from the other tour buses, taking in short walk viewpoints over the Megalong and Grose Valleys, and tasty progressive lunch along the way.
Mid afternoon, we travel through the beautiful Bilpin region. Famous for apples, peaches and stone fruits and nut varieties. Also, Cider! So while we are on this region we will sample tasty apple pie and ciders.
Now its back toward Sydney, as we place you on a 20km journey down the Parramatta river to Sydney CBD. Destination options of Circular Quay (550pm) or Darling Harbour (6pm).

What Makes our Blue Mountains Tour the Best?
By the time you get to us, you already know that the Blue Mountains is a World Heritage listed National Park. The trick is finding someone who knows the place like only a local can to take you to all those hidden nooks and crannies not known to the general public, all the while ticking off icons like the Three Sisters.
There is one overarching and unique difference between our Blue Mountains tours and our competitors. Our tours are intimate, personal, and catered to suit you. Most tours adhere to a strict itinerary with little flexibility, aimed at getting as many people on the tour as possible at one time. We couldn’t be more different if we tried!
Our experienced guides live locally and build a tour based on your personal preferences that are flexible and adaptable to all weather conditions. We have limited numbers on each tour and our local knowledge of the area means that you can choose whether to stick to the more famous icons of our World Heritage listed backdrop such as Scenic World, or avoid the crowds and let us take you to lesser-known gems where you can experience stunning scenery, local produce, and local people.
A lot of Blue Mountains tour companies think that the stunning scenery is enough, but we could not disagree more! We source local produce daily that you are getting fresh, restaurant quality food that punctuates the location you eat it into perfection.
We don’t have a script and we aren’t on auto-pilot when we point out to you some of the Blue Mountains’ most beautiful and famous landmarks. Our philosophy is that there is a difference between “seeing” and “doing” and our aim is for you to interact with the environment we take you to and share stories based on our experiences of the local area.
We spend the extra time to take you to our favourite spots off the beaten track so that you have an experience you rave about because there is nothing special about joining a conga line of tourists on the same old tour in the same old locations.
